While Private Debt LLC ("PD"), the private debt brokerage arm of M.J. Whitman, provides sophisticated investors with value opportunities in the distressed market, it also helps vendors and financial institutions hedge their credit risk to financially distressed customers. The risk management product most frequently used is the Accounts Receivable Put Agreement (the "AR Put"). The AR Put allows credit providers to ensure payment on risky accounts when the services of a traditional factor or trade credit insurer are unavailable. PD also acts as an intermediary between vendors and more than 1,000 financial institutions with respect to factoring services, asset-based financing deals, and trade claim sales.
